On July 13, 2013 my friend Emma and I did some volunteer trail building on the back side of Mt. Sanitas in Boulder, Colo. It was way more rewarding than I had hoped. Not only was it a great workout, but we gave back to the community and were a part of a sustainable trail that is estimated to last for 100 years. Nifty.

Not to mention I learned some trivia about Boulder… like we have the 4th most diverse butterfly population in North America and Boulder sits next to the most eastern part of the continental divide.

Trail building. Highly recommended. Visit the Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks website to register to volunteer on the next project.
